TAMPA, FL (WFLA) — Billboards have been put up around Tampa Pinellas County and Orlando for in order to help “dispel myths and fear about Islam during this challenging time,” according to the Islamic Circle of North America.

ICNA says the billboards are meant to challenge people to get the facts about what Muslim Americans believe. The billboards are located in Tampa, at 40th Street East, 300 feet south of Martin Luther King facing north; in Tampa, at 50th Street East, 200 feet south of 5th Avenue facing south; and in Pinellas County, located on U.S. 19, 850 feet south of 150th Avenue, facing north.
ICNA says they are leading a national educational campaign called #WhoisMuhammad, and the Tampa Bay area plays a large role in the campaign.
The group has posted more than 100 billboards in major cities across America since May of 2015.
Billboards invite passers-by to call the toll-free number, 1-877-Why-Islam or to visit the website, www.WhyIslam.org to find answers to questions about Jihad, Terrorism, Women’s Rights, or to order a free copy of the Quran or other literature.
