DALLAS (KRLD) – A billboard has gone up by the Dallas Zoo that reads “One Family – One Message.” It’s part of a campaign, in both English and Spanish, launched by the Islamic Circle of North America.
“As American Muslims, it is our religious and civic responsibility to present fellow citizens authentic information about Islam and Muslims, encourage healthy dialog and bring about a positive change in the society,” says the organization’s Outreach Director in Dallas Riyaz Lareef.
Lareef says the messages on the billboards are designed to illustrate the common roots of Judaism, Christianity, and Islam. The campaign also encourages people to call a toll free number 1-877-WHY-ISLAM hotline or visit www.whyislam.org to learn about Islam and Muslims and ask questions about the religion.
The One Family – One Message campaign runs from Dec. 15, 2014 through Jan. 9, 2014.
