MONROE, La. (KNOE 8 News) – A faith based organization is putting down roots in the ArkLaMiss, opening an office in Monroe to help with continued disaster relief after March’s floods.

The group is called ICNA Relief USA, centered around the Muslim faith and helping people in the area rebuild their homes.
Jane Aslam cut the ribbon on the new facility, and is the National Director for the group. She says they’re just opening their doors, but they’ve already helped dozens among an initial list of two thousand people who applied for help.
“Every family is going to be a little different. They’re going to have a different need for their recovery,” Aslam said. “If you lived in an apartment before the storm, you won’t really need to rebuild your home after the storm but you may need to replace the furnishings that you left. We’ll be able to help you replace your furniture, or other types of needs you may have.”
The relief group is housed next to the Monroe Chamber of Commerce office. If you’re a flood victim, and still need help rebuilding after March’s flood, you may contact their office at (318) 410-5007 or (225) 335-7727.
