ICNA Relief Commits $100,000 to Relief Efforts. 18 Mosques in impacted regions to shelter evacuees.
Sept. 14 – Hurricane Florence is set to be the most dangerous storm to hit the Carolinas in 30 years. It is expected to cause “life-threatening storm surge and rainfall.”
ICNA Relief is allotting $100,000 towards responding to this storm. ICNA Relief’s Disaster Response Team has been deployed from Houston to provide relief, that includes muck out and gut out services after the hurricane.
ICNA Relief in cooperation with local mosques have set up temporary shelters for hurricane evacuees in Georgia, North Carolina and South Carolina.
ICNA Relief has partnered with the Association of Physicians of Pakistani descent of North America (APPNA) to deploy two mobile clinics into the affected areas. Teams of doctors will be providing free checkups and medicine to those in need. Several supply trucks containing food and toiletries will be sent to the affected areas once it is safe to do so.
