Creating Awareness for Social Services in the Community.
On Sunday September 27th, ICNA Relief Florida organized and launched their first annual 5k run called Steps for Relief at Bill Frederick Park. The goal of the 5k was to bring the faith community together, showcase various organizations in the community and bring awareness to the homelessness and refugee services provided by ICNA Relief.
The event was sponsored by CAIR-FL, Edward Jones, Muslim Women’s Organization and Cici’s Pizza. With over 80 people in attendance, the first 5k was a successful event that has now created a flurry of attention from the community.
“For the past 5 years, ICNA Relief Florida has brought much needed social services to the community. By joining this 5k, not only will participants promote healthy living but they will also support an important cause,” said Br. Arthur Richards, ICNA Relief’s South East Regional Coordinator.
ICNA Relief has already begun planning their next Steps for Relief event in Orlando and have hopes of bringing it to various other cities where ICNA Relief is actively benefiting the community.
