ICNA Sacramento hosted an information booth at the California State Fair, from July 14 to July 29th, 2012. Volunteers with ICNA’s outreach project 877-Why Islam handed out free copies of the Quran, brochures and DVDs and answering questions about Islam.

The volunteers gave out around 500 Qur’ans, over 1,500 brochures, over 400 DVDs and around 150 Qur’an audio CDs. About 1,000 people visited the booth. The purpose of the information booth is to encourage the public to search for unbiased information on Islam and to promote understanding and dialogue between people of different faiths. Why-Islam also hopes to highlight the diversity of American Muslims. The booth was located in Building C at C-302, and was open all day 10 AM to 10PM during the State Fair.
ICNA Sacramento would like to thank all the volunteers and supporters who helped to make the dawah booth a success this year! This year was especially challenging as the last 10 days or so of the California State Fair was during Ramadan.
