Detroit, MI – On Saturday, Oct. 8th, Muslim Family Services hosted a neighborhood cleanup for all community members to come together and clean the streets of Hamtramck and Detroit. Volunteers spent about two hours cleaning, whilst realizing first-hand that there are immense amounts of trash on the streets that we don’t notice as passersby. They walked back to the MFS office after finsihing up their task, interacted with other volunteers, and then were served lunch to end the event – pizza, pasta, salad, and biryani (a traditional South Asian rice dish).
