More than 22,000 Muslims are expected to gather in downtown Baltimore over the Easter holiday weekend between March 30 and April 1 for the Islamic Circle of North America’s annual convention.
Being held for the 4th time at the Baltimore Convention Center, this is the 43rd annual mass Muslims gathering known as ICNA-Mas Convention themed “50 Years: Sharing Islam, Serving Humanity.”
ICNA-Mas Convention aims to provide an “atmosphere that is energized by unified praise and worship of One God by offering a variety of programs by many renowned world speakers which depict solid Islamic teaching,” described the group’s website.
“With renowned speakers, amazing sessions and an incredible bazaar, the Easter weekend event provides thousands with unforgettable memories,” it added.
The event will host a number of NGOs with more than 100 sessions and conferences over Muslim matters during the scheduled 2-day event.
Activities of the event aim to provide help to the Muslim community including matrimonial matchmaking to help single Muslims find the right matches.
Sessions also include, a job fair, a blood drive-partnered with the Red Cross, a special ethnic sessions and counsel with immigration lawyers.
Moreover, other sessions will be provided for children and youth such as Quran recitation competitions, open mic poetry and cooking.
Established in 1968, the Islamic Circle of North America (ICNA) aims to support Muslim community needs with the focus on educating the members about Islam.
Over its 50 years of serving Muslims in the U.S., the group has witnessed many expansions with many branches and projects and many of them are still running today to fulfill the needs of the Muslim community.
