John W. Wimberly Jr., Pastor of Western Presbyterian Church, today issued the following statement regarding ICNA’s campaign against hunger:
“Western Presbyterian Church gives thanks to God for ICNA’s Campaign Against Hunger.

For 27 years, Western Prebysterian Church has been feeding over 250 homeless people in Washington, D.C. with our Miriam’s Kitchen for the Homeless program. Last year, First Lady Michelle Obama came to Miriam’s Kitchen and served a meal to our homeless friends. The homeless often say to us, “Thank you for feeding us.” I reply, “No, thank you for allowing us to do what God instructs us to do.” While some would try to pit Christians and Muslims against one another, we will not be divided. Muslims and Christians stand together as we serve the hungry and work for justice in the world. Thank you, ICNA, for your faith-filled work!”
