-—FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE—-
NEW YORK, NY (July 2, 2016) – ICNA, once again, is deeply saddened by the acts of violence against innocent civilians in Dhaka, Bangladesh carried out by Daesh. The murderers who committed this barbaric attack have nothing to do with Islam.
Daesh continues to target innocent Muslims and people from other faiths on their campaign of hatred and violence. In the last few days, after the terrorists attack in Turkey, there were attacks in Afghanistan and Somalia where many Muslims also lost their lives due to violence committed by extremists. As a community, we must stand together in combating the reach and ideology of Daesh.
This attack comes as Muslims are in the holiest period in the blessed Month of Ramadan. In these last ten days and nights, Muslims intensify in their acts of worship apart from their fasting. All over the world Muslims find themselves engaged in supplications and prayers. So the perpetrators of these crime could not be Muslims.
We pray for those who perished in these brutal attack for their forgiveness and for those injured we pray for their speedy recovery. We also pray for the families who have lost their loved ones. May Allah SWT grant them patience. We hope and pray in these blessed days that those who are behind this attack will be made known and that justice be swiftly done.
