—-FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE—-
NEW YORK, NY (May 23, 2020) – Eid-ul-fitr greetings to all by ICNA President Javaid Siddiqi.
“Asalamu Alaikum Wa’Rahmatullahi Wabarakatuh,
On behalf of Islamic Circle of North America (ICNA) I wish you and your family a blessed happy Eid. Brothers and sisters Alhamdulillah we thank Allah for allowing us to witness this Ramadan. We hope and pray that according to the words of Prophet Muhammad that this Ramadan would have been an accepted Ramadan and would be a source of expiation for us from the fire of hell.
Prophet said “Whoever stands in the night of Ramadan with iman (faith) and accountability of self, his sins will be forgiven.’ We ask Allah to accept our fasting, accept our qiyam (night prayers), accept our charity and our ibaadat. Ameen ya rabul-alemeen. We also ask Allah to shower his mercy and forgiveness to those who returned to him during this time and raised their ranks to be among the shuhada (martyrs). Ameen.
Brothers and Sisters this was not an ordinary Ramadan, this was the most unique and amazing opportunity for all of us to connect to Allah, to his book and with our families. I want to take this moment to thank and congratulate the Muslim community and its leadership for doing what was necessary to slow the spread of this pandemic, as cities and communities start to reopen I remind you that we must do so with utter most care and precaution. May Allah keep everyone and their loved ones safe.
Finally, on this blessed day of Eid, please remember all vulnerable communities around the world, support them and keep them in your dua.
Jazak-Allah Kairan, Eid Mubarak!
Kul ‘am wa antum bi-khair! (May you be well throughout the year)
Asalamunalikum wa rehmatullaho wa brakatuhu“
