NEW YORK, NY (December 30, 2019) – The Islamic Circle of North America (ICNA) expresses its heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims of the horrific stabbings during Hanukkah celebrations in Monsey, New York and the string of anti-Semitic attacks on the Jewish community and their religious institutions.

Today our thoughts and prayers are with the loved ones of the victims and the Jewish community of New York. We can not and should not tolerate attacks on any religious community and stand up together against anti-Semitism and Islamophobia. We urge the management of places of worship to be on-guard and take extra security precautions.

Over a dozen recent anti-Semitic attacks and incidents continue to remind us of the presence of religious persecution and hate in our country and its alarming increase in recent years.

ICNA calls for an end to the rising public rhetoric of intolerance that stigmatizes groups and communities and subject them to these attacks.
