NEW YORK, NY (December 1, 2019) – The Islamic Circle of North America (ICNA) condemns the abhorrent attack in London this weekend that killed 2 and injured 5 people.

Police shot dead a knifeman after he stabbed up to five people, killing two, in a shocking terrorist attack on London Bridge, as frightened crowds fled the scene.

ICNA strongly condemns all acts of violence on innocent people, and expresses support to British efforts to protect its citizens, and maintain stability, and security.

ICNA also offers condolences, thoughts and its deepest sympathies for the victims and their families as well as wishes for the swift recovery of the wounded.

“Whatever the circumstances or motivation for what happened, we all stand together against violence and will not let senseless acts of terror divide people or our societies.” said ICNA President Javaid Siddiqi.

Imam Abdul Qadir Hashmi of the mosque where the alleged attacker is said to have frequented said “As Imam, I condemn any killing of innocent human beings. The religion I practice day in day out has no connection with those who choose to kill innocent people. The actions of this young man are wrong and cannot be justified under any circumstances.”
